A1- Choose the correct alternative.
1 c- Weavers
2 c- Three stages of life.
3 b- White
4- b- Halcyon

A2- Ans.- Sarojini Naidu described three stages – Childhood, Adulthood and Old age. She has expressed this, through the work of weavers. The weavers weave clothes of different colours related with birth, marriage and death- for a child, a queen and a dead man. First stanza indicates happy childhood, second stanza indicates joyous mood in adulthood and third stanza represents sadness in old age.

A2- Ans.- In the first stanza Sarojini Naidu described childhood, in which the weavers refer to the blue colour of dress of child like bird’s feathers- indicating happiness. In the second stanza the weavers weave green and purple coloured marriage- veils of a queen indicating joy, energy, romance. And in third stanza weavers weave white shroud for dead man’s funeral indicating sadness for the end of life.

A3- Ans.- I think, three stages of life childhood, adulthood and old age are enjoyable. In these three stages we can enjoy life. We should see positively towards old age also. I saw many old people enjoying their life. They can find happiness in their hobbies and interests. No doubt childhood and adulthood are delightful, but every old person should find happiness in thing, they like.

A3- Ans.- Of course, I think colours reflect feelings. So we also use particular clothes of particular colour on some occasions. For weddings, we use dark colourful attires, for funeral mostly white and black coloured clothes are used. In political field, white clothes are always preferred. In Navratri, women ware sarees of nine colours, daily. These things prove that colours reflect emotions.

A4- 1-Weavers, weaving at break of day.
Break of day means beginning of life is referred.
2- Weavers, weaving solemn and still.
Colourless and gloomy old age is referred.

A5- Ans.- Childhood gives us joys
Adulthood needs open eyes
Old age is gift of God
Don’t feel it an odd.
