A2) The father thinks of the past alone. He has no communication with his children. Children are not interested to share jokes and their secrets with him. He doesn’t sit with them to recall happy memories and enjoy them again. There is only a sullen silence. He thinks of his grandchildren. Father spends the past, present and future alone and in silence.
A3) Yes, father is the backbone of the family. He takes care of his family. He works hard to give his family a better life. He always gives priority to his family. In returns he expects only love from his family. Therefore, he should be considered the head of the family. He should be respected by every family member.

Synecdoche – Here, stale chapati stand for stale food. It means that part symbolizes the whole i. e. food.

A2- Ans.- In a long sentence we drop unnecessary word which has less importance, easily, without hesitation, likewise in this poem the speaker says that father has little value in the society, so his existence is neglected by everyone. He was travelling unnoticed as an unimportant word in the sentence. Here the poet used ‘Imagery’ in which long sentence symbolizes the train and unnecessary word symbolizes the passenger( father) getting of the train.
